new marya roxx cd : payback time

hi fans,

after listening so many times to the new marya roxx cd,which by the way is entitled PAYBACK TIME,i must let you know my opinion about it: it's excellent :devildance:

she has 12 songs on the new album,8 new ones and the 4 from the EP and they are brilliant,i honestly think it's the best hardrock studio-album since 10 years. it really reminds me of the good old 80's hardrock times which most of you younger fans don't know but let me tell you,if you like the EP you will love the new cd!!!

there's not a single track in my opinion that's weak or middleclass,each and every song is fantastic and a few of the new songs i like even slightly better than the 4 EP songs that we all know already and which are without a doubt already first class rocksongs.

i'm soooooooo happy right now listening to the new songs,i can only highly recommend this cd to every marya roxx fan but also to every other hardrock fan.

on a scale from 1-10 where 10 is perfect i would give it a 9+

I do have it and i think it is a hell of a rock album!! Frankie said it all really :cool:

Only two out of the twelve songs didnt really do much for me, still good songs but on a strong album just seemed to dawdle behind the rest, but i will talk about tracks and what i think of them once more fans have the album after the tour :roll:

Every penny spent on this album is absolutely worth it imo and anyone who thinks the EP is cool will definately love this :-D

There is no way any decent fan is gonna upload it anywhere, you will just have to wait till it appears in Marya's online store if you can't make it to a show.

Marya needs sales, not just to pay her wage, but also to show any prospective record companies that there are fans out there, if its thrown out there for free by someone not thinking then there is no incentive for fans to go and buy it and show support.

Payback time is one of my fave songs, and simply incredible live :cool: unfortunately it is so hard to capture great sound with such heavy music.

More reason to go see Marya live for yourself :-D those vids are great but sooo don't do Marya justice!!


I think it's also cool that these vids have come from lafee fans :-) she really made an impression on the berlin audience and if the other shows are anything like that then i can see lots of new fans coming from this tour :cool:

I've finally had the chance to give this a proper listen, headphones on with a whiskey in my hand, and I can honestly say it's excellent. Right from the off the excellent guitar work of Mr Crook hits you like a hammer and paired with Marya's voice they're a match made in heaven.

Time to run, Payback time open the album brilliantly, nuff said about 21 and Nothing Going On, excellent tracks, personally I found Blinded a bit weak and wasn't blown away by Filth either. Am blown away by Oh Yeah though, had it on repeat several times now, guitar kinda reminded me of "One" by Metallica (us oldies know our rock you know lol). Jealous of Anji now, would love to hear John's drums live on Rebel, Land Of Dreams brilliant as is Loverboy. Would have prefered something like Rebel to end the album as I see Check-Out as more of a mid album song.

Overall........loved it, will admit to really only following Marya coz of Paul and John but that's all changed, this lady really deserves to be signed and promoted!!!!!

Have listened to Vanilla Ninja's stuff and Marya's where she should be now, singing damned good rock music.

Am off to join the street team and bung Marya's banner wherever I can.

the guitar riff at the beginning is from time to run i believe, then you hear marya sing blinded, which is the next one i think you are referring to, then they show parts of time to run again, both are on the album.

Blinded is so great coz there it sounds the soft and the hard voice of Marya...

Finally I can tell my opinion about the songs (THANK YOU FRANKIE!)

So, since evryone loved Blinded, i listened that first. My first thought was "okay, i understand why everyone love it." so was with the next song "eternal friends". and with next song. and with next song.. and.. i had really big hopes about that album. and it's way better than i expected. little bit old memories, little bit future. and something .. that you just cant put your finger on.

Thanks to Anji, I got Marya's album yesterday, and I can happily agree with everyone else here that it ROXX!!!! :devildance::cool::devildance: There aren't a lot of rock stars these days, but Marya really fits the bill. She's got such a powerful voice, and the album has a great edge and energy to it! I also think that all the musicians on the album did a really excellent job and provide such great backing for Marya. Paul Crook's guitar work really blows me away! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Meat Loaf fan;-)) The tracks that really jumped out at me from my first listen were "Time To Run", "Payback Time," "Eternal Friend", and "Blinded". :-D There are a couple of songs that I don't like as much, but I think all in all it's a really great debut! Like everyone else, I am ready to help promote Marya as much as I can so that she'll get signed and rock fans all over can hear her album and find out how much Marya Roxx rocks!:-)

I think it's actually illegal to use an artists music without permission. Youtube take them off regularly. I know someone who had their whole account deleted for just using a part of a song to go with their pictures. Blinded hasn't even been released yet, IMO It's not really fair to put it on there. And I hate to sound moany but I also don't think It's right for people to share the cd. I'm sure Marya hasn't put the cd on the store for a reason. I know that sucks for those fans who didn't get it at a show, but Marya's career relys a lot on cd sales and if everyone shares it for free with mp3s, Marya's career is stuffed, then where does that leave the fans?

But I may as well talk to the wall as only those who can see it are listening lol. The rest don't seem to give a rats arse :rant:

Unfortunately you have just made Deb's point there, you say you will buy the album anyway because you are really a fan.

But

What about the fans who want the music but arent such huge fans that they will buy the album when they already have the music from someone else, when Marya chooses to release it for a serious attempt to get into the charts then it won't get very high because everyone already has the album from buying one and sharing it.

It does sound mean to those who couldnt make a show but alot of fans on here made a real attempt to buy extra copies for other fans, Deb even made a thread towards the end of the tour asking if anyone wanted her to get them anything from the merch stand.

I'm sure you're not the only one who has a copy so this isnt intended just for you hun.
