On eof my favurite singers she has the greatest voice in from all the pop-rock singers she is great singer!! with many succesful songs she sings my favourite song because of you i think she is one of the best!!!!!!!! i think you agree too!

kelly has a nice voice and i think she's the only casting winner who deserves the success,usually casting show suck in my opinion

she is such a great artist.. her voice is great and she is beautiful too... i can say that i like her but not always.. i have to hear news from her a long time! i hope she will appear with new songs!

Totally agree with you, Frankie, with one more exception please: Börni. She didn't win the (Swiss) casting show, to everyone's amazement, because she should have, but made third place. Her first cd was really amazing (take a look at "börnimusic.ch" and be convinced). I saw her live and was really taken aback at how she rocked the place! Fantastic musician, unbelievable stage presence and, of course, a smashing and memorable voice! Listen in! :guitar:

I really love her and of couse her music! I got her CDs and they are great. Her voice is so fantastic. Can't wait for her new CD. Her new Song is good.

We like Kelly very much. She has an unique and strong voice we think. And her song're really interesting, with a sence. And she's a very nice woman!

imo she has become very arrogant Prox, even though American Idol gave her her big break she refused to let the contestants of subsequent shows sing her songs unless she was paid a huge amount of money for each song, she was heard saying that she didnt want amateur singers singing songs she had written. She seemed to have forgotten she was an amateur singer too before.
It's just my opinion and i dont wanna make you feel like you have to agree but that was one of many things she has done that i dont agree with.

I can only speculate as to whether she said about the other singers singing her songs but the rest is true, she was asked about it on a tv programme called T4 over here, they asked her why she had put a block on her songs being sung on AI, she just replied by saying they werent prepared to pay the fees she wanted. The rest i got from reading the newspapers at the time, so wont say whether that is true or not. I couldnt understand it..surely it wouldve been good publicity to have your song sung on there. It was good enough for much bigger artists.

Anyway, so sorry prox i am ruining your thread, i really do like her voice and most of her songs, and because of you is one of my fave songs, it is very personal to me. I just felt i had to explain what i said :-)

Thnx for posting bout her though hun, i had not seen any of her American Idol stuff :-)

surely it wouldve been good publicity to have your song sung on there. It was good enough for much bigger artists.


Maybe they coughed up the big bucks for them :-D And if she is a big artist now then they should her as well :-)

And she should, cause I personally think she is THE BEST female vocalist in pop and rock today. (sorry Marya) She can hit and hold almost everything and she sings with personality. Not just singing A song, but singing HER song. I listen to a lot of her live songs or a concert. That's when I got impressed. Favorite song is Sober.

American Idol can do a good job of finding singers. David Cook is also one of my favorites. Check him out.

As i said, she is a great singer, I dont understand what you mean by the stigma of AI though, over here its not such a great thing to be associated with the x factor as very few of them make it. But you have the likes of Carrie Underwood (who i love by the way, and the only other idol as far as i know to win grammy's as well as Kelly), Fantasia,Jordin Sparks and Daughtry all doing very well and have a respectable presence over here as well as Kelly so it seems to me that it isnt such a 'handicap' to someones career.
For the record...of all the times i have heard Kelly sing live i have only ever heard one bad performance so please understand i am not attacking her in any way and certainly not as a singer.

great thoughts will but i will not agree with u! in a point !!!! because the fact that you said..that she is the best vocalist in pop or rock today its true but that not has to do with marya i say that because you said (sorry marya) i think that marya is completely different than kelly and more better all the female vocalists can sing pop music and a very few metal music like marya! SO if u put kelly.. to sing marya's songs ..you will lose your hearing...she will sing too bad.... marya is a way better!

Yes I did think it was a bit unfair to compare Marya to Kelly. While Marya has sung Pop Rock and Metal, Kelly has not sung Metal. I wonder what that would sound like :hmm: Kelly did do a brief run of shows singing Gospel and Country and they turned out really well. I'd really like to hear Kelly do a version of Bonnie Tyler's Ravishing. I think that would be a hit song even today.

As for as artists have a stigma from American Idol, believe me it does exists. It's worse for some than others. Many people like the singers from the competition, but there's also many people who won't listen to them because they come from the competition. Most of my friends are this way. It's like they're not treated as real artists because of the record company manufacturing that's behind them. For Carrie and Kelly, the awards they've won have helped separate them from the show a bit, but even today you'd be hard pressed to find an article on Kelly Clarkson that doesn't mention American Idol at some point. Her last album wasn't as well received and I think a big reason for that was it was a bit more edgier and that went against the image that people had of her from the show and previous albums. They like the "sweetheart" image, not the bitter image. I do think releasing My December gained her some clout with the musicians, maybe not the public.

For many like Aiken, Taylor Hicks, Fantasia, McPhee, Reuben, they will be forever tied to the show. Maybe they're not a solo artist enough to break free from that. Who knows. Carrie Underwood is almost entirely a solo artist. Part because of the awards, part because she's an amazing vocalist, and part because she's country. In U.S., Country operates independently it seems. It's weird.

I am excited for this years American Idol. I just found out a few days ago that a girl I know tried out and made it to the live voting show. She's been singing in Minneapolis for years and has a chance to do real well. I'd love to get the inside scoop on the show, if she'll still talk to the little people afterwards :s_laugh:

lol fair enough Willis :-) i see where you're coming from and you being in the U.S are best placed to comment. I completely agree about Kelly and Carrie being better solo artists, not only do their awards and record sales show that but their live performances and 'own' songs show it too :-) I'm a big fan of Carrie Underwood but thats another thread lol and i respect Kelly in a similar regard.

So i always thought we got the AI showing over here some months after the actual shows finished over there, but by the way you have posted it looks like we are seeing them very soon after you guys as the new one has been going for a couple of weeks here :-)

It's funny but i hate the x factor over here with a passion but i really like watching AI, alot of great singers seem to have emerged for that show. Biggest dissapointment though i think is Fantasia, i was soo looking forward to her album but i actually found it quote boring :-(

i just didnt see it like that as alot of the contestants manage good careers afterwards whereas over here winning the x factor seems to mean you will never work in the business again :hehe:

Interesting comments there, Willis. I'll have to think about that a little... As for best singer - let's just say that Marya is now a Metal singer, something that really wouldn't suit Kelly. As for the actual singing and holding notes - I think Marya can match and beat Kelly - just watch the live video from when she was in VN and hear her singing "Ave Maria" live...

to be honest i think its very hard to define a 'best singer'different singers sing differently and have different characteristics in their voice. I believe you can only really say if someone is a good songer or not, not whether they are 'better' than anyone else.

Very true Anji. "Best" is always up to personal taste. That's why I've always taken awards that artists win with a grain of salt. Over here, the Grammys are pretty much a sham.

You may be watching Idol at the same time we are, or a week behind. Tonight is the last episode of Hollywood week. Watch for Jessie Langseth. I hope she does good.

Ahh, look for a song on the Kelly's album called Whyyouwannabringmedown. It's the closest thing she's done to what Marya would play. I think Marya would own this song.

These "dead" rumours are becoming so annoying. A little while back Hannah Montana supposedly died in a car crash. There were internet reports which even had photos of the crashed car! That's so malicious!
