Best Male Rock/Metal Singer of all time

Badforgood gave me the idea for this thread - I think it'll be interesting to see who gets mentioned the most!

As for my opinion: I think that Brian Johnson of AC/DC is the best male Rock/Metal singer of all time! :-)

Really?!?! New Guns album?!?! Now that DOES surprise me. However, as far as best singer goes, I still much prefer the instantly recognisable and unbelievably powerful voice of Brian Johnson. It gives me goosebumps even now, after all these years, to hear that voice - he's just a fu**ing legend! And he's featured on Marya's list of bands she loves! :-) By the way: the new AC/DC album is due to hit the stores this Friday!!!!! Guess who'll be lining up at the store Friday morning for this album?! :-)

well i didnt know this band until friend of mine suggest it to me...well my favourite song is story to tell...is a death metal band...the singer is dead...he died from head cancer..how sad..before his death he was suffering from headaches,he was visiting 4 a long time the doctors and nobody could find that he was sick from head cancer...then they found it but it was late..as i can remember...u can find info in google...he was too pretty and their songs are so melodic!!hope u like them!!

Oooh my instinct says Meat but i think i will consider this for a bit longer, i have loads of fave rock/metal singers, Rob Zombie is another for a start, Union underground, Creed (yeah i know theyre groups :-p but i'm thinking aloud here ;-) )

Meat is my favourite, but I wouldn't in all honesty say he was the best :-)

Jon Bon Jovi is a strong contender. Mick Jagger. Steven Tyler. Axl. Jim Morrison.

To me Rock and Metal can also be very different. All those I listed are really to me rock :hmm:

I completely agree Rock and Metal are very often so different, i couldnt compare say union underground to Bon Jovi, i think i'm gonna have to choose one for each lol

Meat is my fave too, and prob the only one i would go to multiple shows in the same tour but i'm not sure that makes him the best :hmm:

Agreed, Deb, there's loads of different kinds of metal. But essentially they're all simply harder variants of rock. The main thing is that we LOVE Marya! :-)

Yea Bloodflowerz i think Axls voice is very distinctive which i like and he has an emotion and passion that i hear when he sings. Although Meat is still the best imo.

Definitely Brian Johnson! If you listen to the same song, once by Bon Scott, then by Brian Johnson, the charisma and sheer power of Brian Johnson just blows you away! Even now at his age he blows any other singer away, hands down!
