Marya's '21?!' (http://www.ourstage.com/tracks/GOUKWAXYPUHA-) has been entered into the Metal Charts (http://www.ourstage.com/contests/3758-metal) for Jan 2010 on 'Our Stage'. As far as we can make out Marya is currently 250 (http://www.ourstage.com/contests/3758-metal) out of 465 entries.
Plays, favouriting, Commenting, adding the song to a playlist and adding yourself to Marya's fanclub on Ourstage all count towards these competitions. :cool:

Come on all, get playing! need to keep Marya at the top, starting at beginnning of month makes it easier... Finally done some judging lol... Think this is the only way to get to Maryas song to judge :-p It's just a matter of judging till Marya's appears I guess :-D
You have to listen to 15 secs of each song out of the 4 then drag them to the order you like them... some clever thinking maybe needed here ;-)

Go to the judge tab frankie... It comes up with 4 songs.. I think the rankings will anly alter with plays and stuff... thing is seems we have to judge all the others to finally get to Marya's, which as none of us have been is why Marya is slipping down the main chart :-)
I'm being tactical with my voting ;-) If I had more time I'd be even more tactical like check plays and stuff lol

Unfortunately you have to listen to 15 secs of each of them to get another lot come up... As theres 400 in the comp it could take a while lol.. But you have to listen then drag them in order to the right hand side.. then lock them in, then you get another lot come up... eventually 21 will HAVE TO appear :-D But after you've heard 399 Rammstein wannabees
Oh dear god the things i do for Marya Roxx lol.... I can;t take much more of these songs... I;m on about my 7th round of songs and all but about 3 of them songs have sounded like the same bloody singer :mad:

Marya's now 58 in the metal chart! That's a huge jump! Looks like the voting is paying off :cool:
Wow since posting this and going back Marya is now number 4! I'm guessing all of the voting for other bands has also moved Marya up in the ranking :thumbsup: Just need a few more of you on this to make that jump to one :cool:
Thank the lord for that lolol... So I haven't sat here losing my mind all day for nothing :devildance: Come on all of you! it's proving it works :-) even if it takes forever to get to Marya it clearly isn't just the voting for Marya that counts but the tactical voting of the ones before ;-)

I just mailed Our Stage.. since yesterday I haven't had Marya come up in the judging.. or many other bands for that matter, while I've had the ones in the top of the chrats come up over and over and over and over again... with a few random new ones thrown in every 100 or so. I'll let you know the outcome :-)

What a relief to see this post - I was starting to lose my mind...
still waiting for my confirmation email :-/
Commented though and just registered on other email.
Will do this judging thing as soon as i can when they send the email.
Finally got a reply and to be honest It makes little sense as I got top ranking as a judge so for them to say I wasn't actually judging blah blah is crap... I'd say this is a bog standard email that goes out to people who question it. I voted 800 battles or more in last few days. There is 460 something people in metal group. Not once did Marya come up. I did leave computer a few times but each time i went back to it, it gave me the same group to vote on that it was giving me when I left it, so it's not that I missed Marya.. It just never came up... Yet I had some bands come up 10 times or more during that time, bands that are now very high in the rankings thanks to me :roll::hmm:

Thanks for getting in touch.
We think we have a rather unique technology for judging, nothing like it on the internet. We're not a "pick your friend and just vote for him" system, nor do we allow this. We give fans who choose a genre/channel to judge in, a way to put their expertise to work to compare artists of varying experience and styles against each other. The more a user ranks items in a channel, the more quality material will bubble up to the top-- including a friend's material, if it is entered in the channel, and it is good.
Our ranking engine technology chooses what each person who wants to judge is going to see, based on the number of items needing to be judged in a channel. You may or may not see what your friend sees, and you may or may not see what you wanted to see. We are very different from anyone else out there.
The technology is making sure all items get an equal number of judging sessions to make channel ranking fair. Based on how you "vote", the ranking engine will try to get you to decide among the items you liked, or really liked, to determine which items you think truly are better. Also based on how you voted, it presents you with items that were ranked similarly by other people, so that the ranking engine can then collect stats on which items voted by all people judging, really deserve to bubble up to the top.
You effectively spent your judging time not voting, and the ranking engine tried and tried to present you the items it needed to have judged in several different combinations to get you to vote-- thus the reason you saw similar items coming up again and again.
The contest, from an artist's perspective, is more than about winning. One underlying premise is that while ranking, users on our site get to play several artists' work--the material gets air time and actually builds a new fan base for the artist!
Fans can post comments on the artist in the Fan Club Page, and mark them as a Favorite, and we are presently selling tracks for artists that let us. We have a social networking component to our site, with Friends and Fans and blogging
functionality-- for our emerging artists and fans. We have live chatting, and allow scheduling partylines where artists or fans can get together to review or
debut artist material.
We take care of serving up the material in a fair and unbiased fashion. We are watching very carefully to make sure that each item in the channel gets equal
exposure-- that all items will get an equal number of judging sessions so that they compete equally--we guarantee that. Whether that happens in a particular judging session, though, is another matter.
All of the rankings from all of the users are taken together and the ranking engine bubbles up the best items to the top.
BTW, the number of Views/plays on an item is not a count on the number of judging battles an item has appeared in, but reflects a cumulative count of when an item was played by people just surfing/streaming the channels, or from any banners or players posted on other sites-- strictly outside of judging, and includes plays
from the first day the item was posted on our site in a channel to the present.
Finals Week Judging/Max number of battles
There are four (4) rounds of judging to determine the winners across all channels for our monthly contest.
Regular Judging to select the Top Twenty in each channel runs 23 to 24 days, always ending 7 days before the end of the month.
Quarter Finals take place on the following four days to select the Top Ten in each channel.
Semi Finals take place on the next two days to select the Top Ones in each channel.
Finals take place on the last day of the month to select the two Grand Prize
Winners- one in Music gets a check for $5,000USD, and one in Video gets a check for $1,000USD, among other promotional opportunities and prizes.
During Finals Week, you can only judge 190 battles per channel in the Quarter Finals, and 45 battles per channel during Semi Finals. You will be able to do different numbers of battles in the Music and Music Video stages of the site during the Final day, because each month we have a different number of total channels.
The number of judging sessions during Finals Week is controlled, so that we can guarantee that every item in a channel receives equal exposure, and the same number of chances to be judged favorably, as every other piece.
Fans can always go to the channel(s) and just listen to the items, or simply look artists up by artist name, band name, item name-- in the search box found on the top right-hand side of most all of our web pages.

Seems to me this is a lost cause. This whole "bubble of words" seems to me nothing other than an admission that the whole thing is rigged. This is how you formulate things when you want to cover your tracks.
