It is rather a special website... Interestingly a lot of universities won't accept any info's from Wikipedia. It's regarded as being of questionable authority. But who cares? Everyone goes there to look for info and Google lists it pretty much in the top five search results... :-)

Since i resently had to write a lot of essays etc that had to be based on material and pages that are reliable, i stared dislikeing wikipedia. most of the things i needed were there but since everyone can write into wikipedia, it aint so reliable. so it was no use to me.
But when i have to look up info about some artists, no-school related works, im probably still going to use wikipedia. And most of the population does. So i think this is a good idea. To have an aticle about her in wiki. :-)
well you can get information at wikipedia,sometimes they are just wrong :-D

Good job. Anyway i think some material was promotional and that's why
Marya Roxx European Tour 2009 and
Marya Roxx UK Tour 2009 got deleted (at least i see this now).
Wikipedia is encyclopedia and such stuff is not allowed there. Also Marya Roxx wikipedia page should sound more official and informative not about latest events ;-)
Also page is called Maarja Kivi but i don't see their past singles shine it on, could you. These are facts and they shouldn't be hidden.
I had been editing pages there and I think that info got deleted by users xD moreover, I had a few lectures about wikipedia system so I would give 7/10 for main page because it's lacking of info and some facts are missing. There should be more info about how Marya Roxx was developing and her history and not only the latest months.
I wanted to give some good criticism and hope this won't be taken seriously or like destructive criticism :xmas_biggrin:

I disagree with most of the comments you make about Marya's wiki Dan :-p Others keep changing a lot of the content on there, so what myself and Val originally added isn't there to see that often lol. Don't have time to write all I'd really like to here right now, but I think it should be aloowed to have Marya Roxx as the main article... after all does Elton John's revert back to Reg Dwight? His article on wiki alone is similar to Marya's (or what we added to Marya's anyway:-p) Do you see every little reference of his past there? possibley many facts he would like left off are no longer there also... :santa_thumb_up:
I'm sure this makes no sense to anyone but possibley Val right now lol, as I really need to get off the net :-) and don't have time to post as i intended :santa_haha:

I think so too. but what can you do xD You can try to discuss this in wikipedia, but I don't think someone will spot this. If this info which is there isn't of Deb and Val then this is bad, but i can find it in history I guess :santa_cool:

it's cool to have done that !!! but I think that ( how it's written the page before) , on Wikipedia you can't have the truth of an article at 100% . In french wikipedia , i've seen an article about Marya and it's written that she left Vanilla Ninja because she was pregnant... i've never seen this information somewhere else... lol...

well if you don't take it too serious you can use wikipedia for some information but not everything is 100% correct as everybody can write what he wants.
a very good example was the german minister for economy and technology guttenberg,when he became minister last year someone posted an additional name to his already very long name (Karl-Theodor Maria Nikolaus Johann Jacob Philipp Franz Joseph Sylvester Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg) at wikipedia and in the next few weeks all big german newspapers printed that additional name so this showed that no journalist really did god research,they were all looking at wikipedia and took the name from there (including the wrong name) :-D

This article is written like an advertisement. Please help rewrite this article from a neutral point of view. For blatant advertising that would require a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopedic, use {{db-spam}} to mark for speedy deletion.
:-D I guess it's better not to write at all if you get such messages xD But I must agree that current version is not encyclopedic xD
I must say that some sentences really sound like an advertisment for example "It features the talents of seasoned musicians such as Paul Crook, Scott Metaxas, Derek Sherinian and Brian Tichy." I guess the text would be more "dry" like "It feutures musicians such as Paul Crook, Scott Metaxas, Derek Sherinian and Brian Tichy"
Anyway i don't know who wrote this but it sounds not encyclopedic (I like this word) :-D Deb didn't agree with me before (correct if i'm wrong xD) but wiki does :-D
I will try to rewrite this wiki page next month. I will ask Deb to correct mistakes if that's ok :-)

It's wikipedia.. There one person can't say what others should write :-D It's not about Marya Roxx but about Maarja Kivi xD
Well, I would add only that in 2004 she was in such or such group bla bla bla.. over. Only 1 sentence xD History of people lifes are normal. If you read about Sting you will know he was in The Police group.. Maybe someone are interested in the past..
Maybe Microsoft don't want some info to be there, but people MUST know the details because it's encyclopedia and facts shouldn't be hidden. It's not a fan page.
Marya will also play sets at London's Rock of Ages Fest Sun 22nd Nov[6] and N. Wales Hard Rock Hell on Dec 5th lining up alongside the likes of Queensryche, Monster Magnet, RATT and New York Dolls
such stuff can't be in wikipedia. This is the real advertisment :-) You don't need to write other groups :-)

The rest we can argue about till we're both blue in the face lol. We will probably always see it different :-D
And for your information, the advertising part only got added by wiki after VN / estonian fans etc added stuff. The original content myself and Val added was mostly left alone by wiki and more importantly backed by Marya herself and her management :-) I really do not care about anything more than that to be honest :-D

i hate wiki, it's `full of so much crap.
I find it ridiculous that just anyone can edit a page, regardless of whether they are putting good stuff or not. No one knows better than the artist themselves, that page should have on it what Marya wants. If she doesn't want to be known as Maarja in the music world anymore, then the fans should respect that.
As for the VN stuff, it's her choice if she wants it mentioned on her page.

I know this is not what you wrote, I just trying to analyze :-) Don't take it personally. criticism is the key to developing :-) I like to ask "is everything perfect?". Sorry, off-topic. :-p
And that's why I want to try to write something by myself I think it won't be worse.. but if you think it will be wrong then I don't know if i should try to write something or not :-)

It is written that Maarja Kivi left the band and how long she has been in the band and why she left it, lol. and i don't understand why you always blame VN as it would be the main problem, the center of all bad stuff :-D
Also her name is mentioned 9 times in whole VN wiki page. There was also a short article about former members but now it dissapeared.
Of course in Vanilla Ninja page there should be thing called "associated acts: Marya Roxx". Ok, enough about that.
Also it's really stupid that someone thinks it should be redirected from Marya Roxx to Maarja Kivi because it's wrong. I am a MR fan and I will try to help. There are some dumb VN fan which write nonsence but what can we do. One person could make everything very bad especially when only few people edit the page. I guess it's the same famous person from here which changed nick many times and put payback time (detective story #2? :-D )
That's what encyclopedia is all about. They don't care about artists/bands/companies opinion. It's not a regular or a fan page. When marya Roxx will become more popular people who will search for info will definetely find out where she was been, in what band and will write that in wiki page if this will be missing.. and I don't see anything wrong in this. Does it hurt something? You can't forbid people to know information. They just give information and wiki is a great project because it's independent from labels and so on. Of course it has minuses but it's the best so far where you can find almost everything.
It's encyclopedia. You will find that justin timberlake was in N'sync, that Robbie Williams was in the Take That and that Marya Roxx was in Vanilla Ninja and that Marya Roxx really rocks. The question would be what's wrong with that?
P.S. I copied info from Maarja Kivi and created "Marya Roxx" page. I hope it will hold on for at least a day :-D

i think you have completely misunderstood what i said and turned it into some vn hating thing, it's nothing to do with that and if you think so then i'm sorry you read it like that. My reaction was to your comment that it wasn't about Marya Roxx but Maarja Kivi, if you don't understand that then no amount of posts i put will make it clear, maybe Deb or someone else will be able to word it better but i will not accept you making me out to hate vn, you're being ridiculous and i'm not interested in going back and forth on this.
I have no clue right now what Marya Roxx page and what Maarja Kivi page say. As Wiki seem to think there should only be one. IMO there should only be a Marya Roxx page. That is her legal name now. 1,000's of artitsts change there names and their wiki pages go by their new name. Why the f#%$£ can't Maryas?
Plus there is no point copying the Maarja Kivi page to the Marya Roxx page if what's on the Maarja Kivi page is all bollocks :-D
All I can say is thank F@$£ I'm not famous, if every little thing good or bad has to be wrote about you by just to make some people feel important lol.
I'm beginning to wish I'd never bothered now. If others had left it alone myself and Val were doing a great job of getting it factually correct without offended Marya. Something some don;t seem to give a rats arse about :roll:

Personally I don't put much store in what Whickypoodada says about anything as any muppet can go on there and put whatever info they want, and as this page highlights usually ruin a perfectly good page done properly.
If you don't agree with the page just ignore it, dont go there and ruin it for the hard working people that spend their time doing it with respect for the artist and their wishes just to satisfy your own opinion.
