The L Word

I've noticed that there are quite a few big fans of the TV-Series "The L Word" here on the forum. So, it's time to start a thread about it! :-)

I'd say it could be summarised as a TV Series about a group of mainly lesbian women, their everyday problems, love-lives, social lives and dramas. It's exceptionally well done and has lasted for five seasons already, the sixth season is running now in the USA. A spin-off series entitled "The Real L-Word" has also just been announced. Some of the most beautiful women on earth act in it. The series has a huge fan base and a thriving website. Personally I think the series has done a lot to make people more aware of the issues lesbian women have to face. It'll be interesting to see what you all think of the series! All five seasons are available in Switzerland on dvd.

i've never seen the "L-word" and never heard of it before until here in the forum. just checked out some infos at wikipedia to know a little bit about the series after you started this thread.

and now my question: why are you so much interested in lesbians? :-D

Simple answer Frankie: I wanted to know what it's like to be lesbian and deal with everyday life where most others are heterosexual... The series is really very interesting and as one can see, close to reality. The fact that the actresses are mostly very pretty helps, of course, but I would've loved the series even if they weren't.

Yes, in fact some of my best friends are lesbian/bisexual and they all love the series and say that it's very close to reality. If you take a look at the forums of the various L-Word fansites, you'll see that thousands of other lesbians think likewise.

Yes, Shane is really really hot - I must agree. Plus she has style...she just always looks cool. Even in the most embarrassing situations, she's cool! Only thing I don't like, are her tattoos - they're really cheap. Sad, such cheap tattoos on such a drop dead gorgeous woman...
