View Full Version : Desmond Child
I didn't realise Desmond Child used to be a singer  I also didn't realise how different he used to look lol. He made an album called Discipline back in 1991 with many great musicians playing instruments on it. i found it while sorting out my Bon Jovi / Richie Sambora collection lol.

well desmond child is one of my favorite songwriters
he wrote songs for many of my favorite bands and artists,it all started when paul stanley of kiss found him and he wrote the megahit "i was made for loving you" with and for kiss in 1979,after that he wrote songs for many other artists like cher, robbie williams, iggy pop, bonnie tyler, michael bolton, joan jett, aerosmith, bon jovi (he co-wrote all the biggest hits like livin on a prayer, keep the faith, you give love a bad name), alice cooper, ricky martin, the rasmus, scorpions ,robin beck and even meat loaf.
he had 70 top 40 hits and sold more than 300 million albums
so when will he write a # 1 hit for marya? deb, better give him a call :-D

ewww don't think i will ever understand why people do that to themselves lol
I've loved Desmond as a songwriter since I first heard Slippery When Wet. I'd say he's my #2 songwriter. I'm going to forget about him writing The Thong Song and remember him for some of my favorite songs of all time: Angel, What it Takes, Poison and Livin' On a Prayer. I guess I'm stuck in the past a bit. I enjoy everything he does with Jovi. (You Wanna Make a) Memory was a wonderful recent track, as was Someday I'll Be Saturday Night.
I do think Desmond caught too much flak for producing Bat 3. Given the circumstances, I could think of nobody better to fill in for Jim.
I highly recommend his solo stuff. Many of the songs are pretty timeless. I saw him perform a few tunes many years ago. From the picture it does appear that he's learned to embrace the magic of the BBQ since then.
i agree completely about bat 3 Willis, while its not my fave, i think its still a good album and didnt deserve the slating it got, but hey fans can be funny. I was gonna ask who your number one songwriter was but after reading the whole post i think i can guess now ;-)
Willis I didn't know you also like Bon Jovi :-) Freaky... :-p
Desmond produced with The Rasmus their new album "Black Roses" and it's amazing.
