I hope it makes a difference Mike, it really would be amazing for Marya to win this. And none of us have an excuse for forgetting to vote now we have that great new countdown on here :cool: Plus the link to vote is right there without searching for it.
I didn't realise till the otehr day that there is 30 that get choosen first, then they dwindle it down. So hopefully Marya will get in that 30 then have a chance to prove herself :flutter:

I could be wrong as I read it very briefly the other day but I think it;s gonna be like one of these bootcamp type things. To slog it out.
Preliminary Evaluation:
Artists create their free profile by completing the artist registration process and uploading three original audio tracks and one live performance video. The live performance video can be from rehearsals or a live concert. Audio dubbing is not permitted. The goal here is to gauge your band’s vibe and presence live.
Bands can encourage their fans to support them by promoting the band in any way possible: radio, flyers, posters, online promotions or embedding widgets across MySpace, PureVolume, Facebook, etc.
Fans vote for their favorite bands between August 4th and September 28th.
The top bands are reviewed by a panel of industry professionals from 10th Street Entertainment and Eleven Seven Music.
Thirty bands will be selected to move on to the regional live evaluation.
Regional Evaluation:
The 30 bands selected in the preliminary evaluation perform live in front of a panel of industry judges at three Guitar Center locations around the country in late October 2008.
Final Evaluation:
The top two bands from each regional evaluation event (six total) will travel to Los Angeles in November to perform for the panel of judges and Mötley Crüe.
A winner is then chosen and given their chance to Make Rock History.
Keep In Mind:
All contest voting begins on August 4, 2008 and ends on September 28, 2008.
Submissions close on September 21, 2008.
Fans may vote for as many artists as they wish, but each fan may only cast one vote per artist, per day.
Want to make it to the top? Here are a few tips on how to set yourself apart:
Network. Not only should you be spreading the word about your video to your existing network of family and friends, but you should actively seek out new friends and fans to share your music with, whether it be on Guitar Center On Stage, FameCast, MySpace, Facebook or elsewhere. You know you are popular, show us.
Embed, Embed, Embed! Use your widgets, located in your account manager, to quickly access all of your embeddable items, including your On Stage videos, photos, fan club sign-up form and vote link. Copy & paste the embed code provided into your MySpace profile, Facebook page or personal web site. If you need help with embedding, click here.
Get some press. We're not talking the New York Times here (that will come later). Seek out your local news outlets and online music zines, blogs, etc., and find a way to get your band in them.
Aim high. Record your work using the highest quality video and audio that you can. Remember, videos files must be in one of the following formats: ASF, AVI, MOV, MPEG, QT, DV or WMV.
Keep it tight. Unless you plan on recreating Michael Jackson's "Thriller," keep your videos to less than 6 minutes in duration. All uploads have a 1 GB file size limit.
Be original. Save the karaoke for your next trip to Japan. Ensure the material you upload is yours, if not we'll karate chop you.

"Good" would be an understatement, Kid Vicious! They are bloody amazing! Rock the pants off any male metal band! Kittie has so much power it'll lift the roof off a house if you turn it up! You MUST listen to them, Kid Vicious, and let me know how you liked them! PS: their drums, for example on the song "Spit" are out of this world! If you have your volume on 10 with that song your speakers will explode! :guitar:

I am so so sad... Especially when you take a good look at those top 30!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe those bands got more votes than Marya... Heading for depression to the power of 1000 now... :-( The world sucks.
As much as it sucks, hopefully it will be a lesson to us all that we really need to keep on and on and on and on with the promoting, voting, emails to radio stations, playing myspace, youtube, commenting.....
Just thinking someone else will do it obviously isn't enough. I realised that the other day when we could actually see just how many were voting for Forbidden Radio. Yes that's changed now but it took a hell of a lot of me and Anji putting laying on guilt trips lol and Marya's cool banner at the top of this page, to change things :-p
Harsh but true I'm afraid. All the 'well done everyones' from people are great, but at the end of the day It's results we need :cool:

No that's not what I'm really saying, I'm fully aware that the likes of me and Anji have an advantage of being able to access the computer all day and for the most part are home as we have children. I know not everyone has this option. We can pop back and forth more reg than others. Some of us choose to be more active here than others, doesn't mean those that can't or don't aren't as eager for Marya to do well. But I do know from experience that it is very easy to not bother doing something as others will. Sometimes that works fine if there are enough doing it. Say if it was Meat Loaf or Bon Jovi. So yes we need to keep on working hard :-) and when it does pay off we will have the satisfaction of knowing we helped :cool: I for one know I have done everything in my power to help Marya, John and Paul :hearts:

I see. I think I can say the same for myself - I've done everything in my power to help Marya also. But looking at those 89 members in total, there are many who could do more... And as you say, you and Anji have far more time to access the computer. I am fitting in what I do here next to a very demanding more than full time job... I work quite extreme hours, which then means doing it all at once when I am here with my beloved forum... Hope this makes some kind of sense, lol! :-)

Trust me having 6 kids is very demanding also , I just don't get paid for it :-p I do what I do in the spare time I find. I make sacrifices for that and I don't by any means expect any of them 89 people to do the same unless they want to :-D That's just why some have chosen not to be in the Stret Team after all :-) Also just because people aren't posting all the time or saying what they are doing, doesn't mean they aren't doing anything. Jasna - kid vicious is a prime example of that, as are many others :cool: Barshy also does a hell of a lot that she doesn't post about. others have always said they don;t have the time and I respect that and I know when they do have the time they will do what they feel they can. But in saying that, the load would be easier on us if it was shared out a bit more lol. Hope they came out how I meant it :-D

I see what you're saying, Deb. I admire how much you do and I try to do as much as possible in every way also. Hope that I've made that clear. Anyhow, let's keep up the hard work. That's what we're both trying to say here, I guess. The Forbidden Radio is doing well. So at least there's a success there! :-)

You're right, Kid Vicious! It would make things easier. In this vein the best thing we can do is keep up the hard work and hopefully we'll help make more die-hard fans like yourself and the rest of us fanatical fans!

I see. I think I can say the same for myself - I've done everything in my power to help Marya also. But looking at those 89 members in total, there are many who could do more... And as you say, you and Anji have far more time to access the computer. I am fitting in what I do here next to a very demanding more than full time job... I work quite extreme hours, which then means doing it all at once when I am here with my beloved forum... Hope this makes some kind of sense, lol! :-)

ok i am a little annoyed reading all this and i wasnt going to respond but as my name was mentioned i feel i should.
First of all just because me and deb are home all the time it doesnt mean we are sitting around playing on the net all the time, i have a 2yr old and a 4 week old, deb has six kids, so dont think for one minute its been easy for us to do stuff.
When i do get on i now only have a few mins each time before one of the kids needs something so i have to decide which threads/tasks are more important at that moment, i.e the ongoing task thread took me 3 hrs to type because i had to do a few sentences each time i had a breather between seeing to the children. I dont want a pat on the back for it, i chose to do it because no one else had gotten round to it after 2 days, my choice, nothing special, just want you to get what i'm saying.
However people saying they didnt have time doesnt sit right with me for this comp or the forbidden comp, when i and deb posted about forbidden the other day almost 2 days had gone by and only me, deb and one other person had voted, which is why i pointed out that it might be a good idea to go vote before we get stuck in with posting and run out of time, it worked for me, i did it first so that if jas or casey needed me i knew i had done that at least! Same for this comp, you didnt need stacks of time to click the link.
Alot of tasks that are asked of us take less time than it takes to post a reply, so how about sacrificing a few posts to go do it, sure no one knows you did but it helps marya and thats what we're here for right??
I know this is long winded and i'm sorry but i want to make sure you understand what i'm saying, i dont want to offend or upset anyone i just want people to understand how a little can do alot, it really is true, people dont have to post here to say they are doing it, and i dont think everyone who posts here does all they can and those who dont post dont do anything, hope that makes sense to everyone
Anji it was really worth reading heh:-)!!!U said it all right!We need to keep on doing what we are doing and at the end I'm sure the results will be good for Marya and for us...like u said a little can do alot...

We lost this comp, it was a big one but it was just one, all we can do now is do our best for the next ones, i am sure Marya has a huge future regardless but we can do alot to make it happen faster for her!!

Well, Kid Vicious is right: we need to keep on doing what we're doing. Doing the best we can in the time we have. Whether that be as mothers with lots of work or doing 16 hour a day jobs. That's all I'm going to say, since seemingly what I said above has been taken completely out of context. I value each and every one here very highly. Seems like that needed to be made clear.
I was going to split this thread and move it to off topic but thought better of it, only because it is hard to find the post to start with, without breaking the flow of the Motley Crue talk.
Everything that all of you do here is very much appreciated. Whether it be just visiting and reading or being an active member of The Steet Team. Everyone is different and eveyone wants something different from this whole experience.

It is sad,but i think you are right Bloodflowerz when the video comes out it could make a big difference to things and if everyone keeps spreading the word,as there are people on here from all over ..the "Marya"word will soon get round..
100% agree :-D The video will change everything :woot: We have to push it and push it everywhere! Plays, comments, It's really important it gets LOTS of hits straight away and that they keep up :cool:
Same with myspace, we HAVE TO, keep on and on with that, just leave it playing ALL the time. I know I keep saying it, but it really is one of the most important things we can do at the moment :cool: We really need to help it get up to 5,000 daily and stay there. Two or three people alone cannot physically do this, we all need to do our bit :-D

I agree with all that Deb and Barb said...and I dont have anything to say more...we NEED to promote,comment,rate,spare...and watch the video same like we did for the 21 song on myspace...:metal:
